Akula Laxmaiah, a retired Transport officer who continued his family profession - farming, after retirement. He cultivates 12.5 acres of land in Nyalakondapally in Gangadhara mandal in Karimnagar district of Telangana state, with mangoes being the primary crop. He grows Bainganpally, Himayat, Dasheri, Alphonso and Totapuri. He adopted natural farming techniques since 2010. He has two desi cows at the farm which provide him with the major inputs required for natural farming - cow dung and cow urine. Jeevamrutham has been applied as soil application as well as a foliar spray regularly. Since 2011 he has not experienced any kind of major pest attack on his mango crops - a rare occurrence.
