Dr Somappa has been practicing natural farming in his farm for past 10 years. He is following passion for farming along with his profession as veterinary doctor. In his farm he is growing Keshar mangoes and Punarvasu/Punasa mangoes. He uses Dashaparni, agneyastra, Neem based sprays, bio controls ( like pheromone traps and solar led light traps) for pest control. Dr. Somappa harvests only those fruits which are matured on the tree. Post harvest these are kept in the rice straw for ripening.
