
These are grown in the farms of Mr.Joseph Maprakavil in Mampoil village, Kannur District, Kerala. He has been practicing organic farming in his 20 acres of land which shares its boundary with the forests in Coorg district. His farm is group certified under INDOCERT organic certification. Ripeness can be judged based on either change of color (it turns dark purple- blackish when ripe) OR by softness (hold the fruits in your palms and press gently - if its ripe you can sense softness just like a ripe mango).
