Situated near Kegeri the Sawan Durbar Ashram is green oasis amid the suburban sprawl of Bangalore, The 40 acre Ashram has 3 rain water harvesting lakes, a miyawaki forest and couple of hundred peafowl roaming the grounds. Native varieties of cereals and pulses are grown for consumption of ashram residents. Hundreds of fruiting trees from local to exotic are maintained by sevadhars who provide voluntary man power. A herd of native cattle (Both cows and Buffaloes) provide inputs required for growing all the crops, vermicomposting is done on site.
