We had sent out an email to our customers in Bangalore and Hyderabad, announcing that our last deliveries would go out on December 31. Reproducing the email here, in case you didn't get it ! But - the rebellion will continue - in a different way - we will focus on building this community - of conscious consumers and responsible farmers - and get out of the way - and let magic happen - on its own. --- Dear Farmizen Family, After 9 unforgettable years of building this little rebellion-in-a-basket called Farmizen, 21 lakh+ deliveries done, and 40,000+ families served across Bangalore and Hyderabad, we are writing to share a big decision. We have decided to close down Farmizen. Our last set of deliveries go out morning - December 31. Before you worry: No, we’re not being held hostage by the zucchinis. No, we didn’t finally lose the battle with logistics (though we came close many times). No, the founders didn’t have a fall out, although half of their hair fell out. And no, CEOs of quick commerce companies didn’t personally chase us with 10-minute timers (again… maybe close). The real reason is simpler and deeper. The world around us has been optimising for “Speed.” Lightning-fast deliveries. One-click everything. Instant gratification. But at Farmizen, we’ve always believed that Slow is Good. Soil takes time to heal. Real food takes time to grow. Trust takes time to build. And values definitely take time to honour. Over the years, we realised that the more the world sped up, the harder it became to live our truth, to continue to stand for transparency, farmer dignity, and chemical-free produce without compromise. We could choose fast. Or we could choose right. But not both. And if there’s one thing we’ve never been able to do, it’s skip the values we started this company with. So we chose honesty. We chose dignity. And we chose to close this chapter with the same integrity with which we opened it. But this is not a sad letter. Because when we look back, we don’t see failure. We see nine years of madness, magic, mangoes, miracles, and moments we will tell our grandchildren or granddogs about. We see you, our customers who became evangelists. You, who stayed with us through the delays, the droughts, the insects, and the experimental vegetables no one could pronounce :) You, who trusted us with your food, your families, and your fridge space. You, who cheered us on even when the world wanted everything in 10 minutes. So long for now, and see you on the next farm trail, the next idea, the next big hopeful thing. With gratitude and a smile, Shameek, Sudaakeran & Gitanjali Founders, Farmizen Shameek Chakravarty Sudaakeran B. Gitanjali Rajamani

I just came back to Bangalore last week and the first thing I wanted to do was order your veggies and kept looking in your website till i reached this post. I feel sad that this had to be closed because of the reasons you mentioned. All the best to you and your team for all your future endeavours.

I just heard the news that Farmizen is closed, and I wanted to reach out to say thank you. Your app was genuinely special. The idea of sending farm harvests to people created a sense of connection and care that’s hard to find in apps today. It didn’t feel transactional—it felt human, thoughtful, and community-driven. Farmizen brought a lot of joy, and I’m really grateful for the work, heart, and intention that went into building it. Even though it’s ended, it made a real impact, and that matters. Wishing the entire team the very best in whatever you build next. You’ve created something memorable.
