Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER)

MOVCDNER is a Central Sector Scheme specifically designed for the 8 North Eastern states to promote certified organic farming with complete value chain support.

Covered States:
• Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya
• Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura

Key Features:
• Higher per-hectare support than PKVY
• Focus on regional specialty crops
• Complete value chain from farm to market
• FPO formation and strengthening
• Processing and cold storage infrastructure

Achievement (2023):
• 1.73 lakh hectares under organic farming
• 1.89 lakh farmers benefited
• 379 FPOs/FPCs formed
• 205 collection units, 190 custom hiring centers

1. Contact State Agriculture Department or MOVCD cell
2. Join or form a Farmer Interest Group (FIG)
3. Register with the nearest Farmer Producer Organization
4. Submit application with required documents
5. Attend training programs on organic farming
6. Start organic cultivation and certification process
