Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY)

PKVY is the flagship scheme for promoting organic farming in India. It provides end-to-end support from production to marketing through a cluster-based approach. Farmers form groups of 50+ with at least 50 acres (20 hectares) and receive support for organic inputs, certification through PGS-India, training, and market linkages.

Key Components:
• On-farm and off-farm organic inputs (₹15,000/ha via DBT)
• Marketing, packaging, and branding support (₹4,500/ha)
• PGS certification and residue analysis (₹3,000/ha)
• Training and capacity building (₹9,000/ha)

The scheme has covered 14.99 lakh hectares through 52,289 clusters involving 25.30 lakh farmers since 2015.

1. Form or join a Local Group (LG) of 50+ farmers with at least 50 acres
2. Register on the PGS-India portal (pgsindia-ncof.gov.in)
3. Submit required documents including land records
4. Attend training sessions organized by the cluster
5. Follow organic farming practices and maintain records
6. Get peer appraisals and certification through PGS system
