Decoupage Workshop

Who thought empty bottles can be used for decoration?  We didn’t until we came across the scintillating art of “bottle decoupage”

On 18th February, our Blue Jamoon Farms were adorned with beautifully designed bottles made by our own Farmizens! We had a decoupage workshop, which was taken by Pallavi Sharma

Pallavi has an interesting profile, she is a techie by profession but has a profound love for art and craft. This is what she has to say about herself.

“I am a techie working in the IT sector. Art and Craft has always fascinated me since my childhood and I have been experimenting with it since then. I used to make handmade gifts whenever I wanted to gift something special to my closed ones. This tradition had continued over the years.
I love to spend my time making craft items and learning new craft forms.
Recently I took my hobby one step further by starting a small venture that is ‘the crafting tale’. It’s the one-stop solution to all your personalized gifts and home decor needs. To pass on the wonderful experience of crafting, I take hobby classes and workshops as well.”

About the workshop

Découpage is the art of decorating an object by glueing tissues onto it in combination with special paint effects and other decorative elements. In this session, participants learnt the fundamentals of decoupage as well as advanced effects such as crackling that made their artwork look classic.

We loved this workshop not only because it allowed Farmizens to channel their creativity, but also because it helped them embrace sustainability. They upcycled glass bottles into amazing art pieces which could be used as home decor as well as great gifting options.

Starting of the workshop

The workshop saw many Farmizens participating with zest. It was a perfect setup, with lush green trees,  chirpy birds, gleaming sun and some budding artists!

The ladies donned the artist’s cap and made sure that their art pieces were no less than a professional’s.

The men weren’t far behind, and they too made it a point to give a tough competition to the ladies 😛

The ladies beamed with their bottle designs, and we must say that they looked exqusitie.

And here’s ladies posting for a group picture with their out of the world creations!

While the Farmizens had a great experience at the decoupage, we also took a moment and asked Pallavi about her experience at the workshop.
She said – “Nature and art go hand in hand. Nothing is more relaxing to the mind than making something pleasing while sitting under a tree in the lap of nature. I was able to witness this first hand at Farmizen. Teaching art amidst lush greenery was like the perfect weekend getaway for me.”

Well, we are ecstatic to hear Pallavi say that, and we also are grateful to her for showcasing the creative side of our Farmizens!

And, we would also like to display some of her other work that she enjoys doing 🙂

We love her art and we would love to have her again on our farms 🙂

If you also have a concept that you want to talk about or an art/activity that you can teach people, then do let us know by sharing your details at [email protected].

We would be happy to have you on our farms for conducting a workshop! 🙂
