Onion brings with itself a great flavor and taste to the dishes it accompanies or is a part of. In this article, we will talk about some recipes of onion, a homemade onion remedy and its benefits.

Recipe 1

Bhuna Pyaaz

These baked onions are a delight to your tummies! They combine with the mouth-watering masala to give rise to a flavourful curry.

Start the process by making 5-6 cuts in a peeled onion. Take about 5- 6 onions.

Now stuff the incisions with a paste made of 2 Tsp of turmeric powder,2 Tsp of jeera powder, 4 Tsp of dhaniya powder, 2 Tsp of red chilli powder, 8 Tsp of amchur powder,1 Tsp of kasuri methi powder, 1 Tsp of black salt, salt and 4 Tsps of mustard oil.
After this, bake these onions at 180℃ for 15 minutes.
Heat oil and add 2 dry red chillies, 2 Tsp of paanch phoren, chopped onions, 3-4 garlic cloves to a pan
Now add 2 Tsp of turmeric powder(again),2 Tsp of red chilli powder, 1 Tsp of cardamom powder, water, 4-5 tomatoes, 1 Tsp of kasuri methi powder(again), salt to taste, 1/2 Tsp of black pepper(again) and allow it to cook.
After this gets ready, pour it between the baked onions and serve

Recipe 2

Pyaaz Ka Raita

A refreshing raita with flavors of onion, cumin and coriander. It is extremely easy to make and serves as a great accompaniment to Indian thalis.

Start the process by whisking about 300 gms of yoghurt along with 50 ml of cream and salt to taste.
Now mix in 5gm of roasted and crushed cumin powder, 50 gms of sliced onions, 10 gms of finely chopped green chillies and 10 gms of coriander leaves.
Serve garnished with cumin and chilli powder.

Recipe 3

Brown Rice Onion Pilaf


This healthy onion recipe is extremely tasty because it is laced with flavours of cinnamon and onion.

Start the process by taking 20ml oil in a deep pan and add 1 Tbsp of butter in it. Now add sliced onion and saute till it gets translucent.

After this add 1 bay leaf, 1/2 Tsp of cinnamon and a pinch of sugar. Saute till the onions get brown and caramelized. After this add 1 1/2 cup brow soaked rice, salt and pepper. Saute. Now add the stock.

Cover and cook till done. Serve with garlic balsamic prawns.
